I'm in a wedding next month and I'm not sure what a good gift would be (dollar amount).. It's hard to judge off 'per plate' because its on a site that requires outside catering, and I know I generally give more since I'm a BM. I'm not her best friend just a close friend and I'm bringing FH. What would you girls give?

Are you paying alot of $$ for your BM dress, bachelorette, bridal shower, etc.? If so, etiquette says you are not entitled to give a large gift. Generally, my FH and I give 350 for the two of us for close friends of his who didn't do big crazy bachelor parties and stuff, but for regular weddings we do 150-250 for the both of us depending on where it is. For example, we went to a wedding at a knights of columbus hall and only gave 150 for the both of us, but gave 250 for a wedding at Bridgeview.
I would do 300 for the both of you, or 350 if you didn't spend alot on other things for your friends wedding
Depending on the cost of what you spent on the dress and all the things that account for the bridal party stuff... I'd say between 250-300 depending for you and FH.
Where is the wedding being held? What kind of catering?
I ask because my FSIL is getting married at queens county farm museum and as of right now she is planning on cooking all the food for her own wedding... but if we can all convince her to get it catered... its gonna be a BBQ buffet.

my minimum wedding gift is $300 from FH & I. The lowest I would give would maybe be $250. If I was in the wedding i'd give $400

I must be the only one that only gives a gift based on my relationship and not on the venue. I don't pay attention to how much the plate costs because I've been to $300 a plater weddings. Anyway $300 is the minimum I give when I'm in a wedding

The minimum I give is $250 for restaurant or low key wedding..if at a hall I give $350 and if I am in the wedding I give between $350-$500. Unless its close family than I give more (brother, sister, close cousin).
