My childhood friend eloped last year and they are having a small party for them at John Harvard's restaurant. How much do you think I should give as a gift? I was thinking $150 from both of us as a couple. Let me know if you think I should give less or am I being too cheep???
ETA: I have not seen/heard this person in about a year until this came up

I think thats enough. They aren't having a huge wedding so I think $150 is a good amount.

I say $200-$250... it really depends on how close you are... FH and I are too generous when it comes to envelopes soo i cant say.

u give what YOU feel is best. if you are close with them give more. either way, its a GIFT. noone should dicate how much you give. i personally would play it safe with 200

If they eloped and now they're having a party, not a wedding reception then I think it's fine. If you aren't sure then you could always give $175

if its a great friend i say $200 just because they eloped doesnt mean you should give any less than a big wedding. the envelope is for the future.

I think you should always give $200 for a couple, but that's my opinion. Are you inviting them to your wedding? You should be aware that whatever you give is probably what they will give you.

I think that is a nice gift. FH and I are going to a wedding in a few weeks... it's a small party at a restaurant and it's the second marriage for the groom and the third marriage for the bride... we are giving $150
