One of my friends from college who I wasn't planning on inviting to my wedding invited me and FH to hers. It happens we have a prior engagement the day of the wedding so we're not going. I also RSVPed 'no' to the shower b/c I have something to do that day and it is OOT.
My question is, we're not going to the wedding, how much should I send? I don't want to send nothing because she is still a friend, but she wasn't on my 'A' list of guests since we have huge families.
Thoughts?
I was thinking of just sending a nice card with $50 in it. I still don't know if she'll be invited to my wedding - we'll probably play it by ear depending on how many 'no's' we get back for our wedding.

Re: How much to send?
Even before I read the last paragraph of your post, I thought 50 as well.

I think $50 is reasonable. You aren't going to the wedding and some people don't give anything.

If you want to send cash, I would say no more than $100, but you could also maybe wait until after her shower is over and buy her a wedding present from what she has left.

I like this idea. I'd be more inclined to send a gift than cash if I was invited but am not going to the wedding.

I'd send a gift or a gift card to where she's registered in that amount, rather than a check for it. That's what most of my OOT friends who couldn't come did for us. It was really nice of them and totally unexpected!

i would say no more than $50, especially if your not going to their wedding.
and if you don't go to her shower, you don't have to send a gift, its up to you if you want to or not,.
