One of my very good friends (a BM) has a birthday next week. I know that she really wants one of those imitation Tiffany mesh rings that's usually advertised in US Weekly. I feel weird buying someone a fake ring though, so I was considering just buying the real deal, which is $125. Is that too much? My b'day is in 2 months and I know that she couldn't reciprocate. This doesn't matter at ALL to me, but I don't want her to feel awkward. So, how much is appropriate in general?

It really depends on how much you usually spend on each other. My friends and I try to stay in the same range $50-60 with more on special occassions - 30th bday, etc.
If I was your friend and rec'd the real ring I would feel that I had to spend that amount on you for your bday.
Does Tiffany have gift cards? What about that?
ETA - I think you're very sweet for caring so much about her bday gift.
Another thought - is it possible she does want the fake one? Maybe she knows she loses jewelry so doesn't want the real one?

Maybe you can split the cost with another friend and both give it to her?
