how much weight is normal at 22 weeks?

Had my Level 2 yesterday and all is well...we didn't find out the sex but it was so cool to see our little person again!

However, I stepped on the scale and almost had an attack - hadn't seen numbers like those since freshman year in college. Does anyone want to share how much they had gained by 22weeks or how much I should expect to gain from now until the end? I have heard many different things like 1lb per week or 10 -15 lbs the last 20 weeks??? I am cutting out the ice cream starting now!

Thanks ladies - I'm up 11 lbs so far but I was concerned b/c this time I gained 5 and last time I gained 6. I know my boobs are getting big and I hope this is just the baby going through a growth spurt right now - but s/he only weighs ONE pound!!!

Should be interesting to see what the next 18 weeks brings.

Now at 31 weeks and I have gained 13 lbs. But everyone is different so don't freak out. I am still throwing up so my weight gain can't be the norm. I had lost 10lbs in the first trimester so I am technically only 3 lbs heavier than I was when I figured out I was PG.

Now I have to admit I ate like half a bag of Oreaos last night Figure I need to make up for lost time.

Antoinette you are not a Fatty! I would take on another 10 even 20 lbs if it meant I didn't have to throw up anymore!

Antoniette, my bestfriend was teeny to begin with and gained 50 lbs with her daughter. She is back down to a size 0 at four months post pregnancy. I was not as small so thats why I'm nervous.

I've gained 33 pounds at 30 weeks - although I think I was relatively thin to begin with as well....

Luckily the weight gain has slowed down a little bit, but not much. I'm sure i'll easily cross 40 pounds before all is said and done!
my bbs also went from a 32B to a 40DD so I blame 10 pounds on that alone!!! hehehe

Antoniette you certainly cannot say that you were a fatty. If you were skinny skinny when you got pregnant your body automatically put on extra weight early because your baby needed the cushioning. My BF was around 100 pounds when she got pg she was tooooooooooo skinny she gained 10 pounds in the first month because her body NEEDED her to be heavier. Please do not think that you are doing anything wrong. I gained a lot but mostly in the boobs there is NOTHING I can do about that, I was blessed with big ones before I was pg, they are just even bigger now!

At 35 weeks I am up about 30lbs. I have been eating like crazy throughout my pregnancy. My addiction has been anything sweet.

I'm at 25 weeks right now and the doctor told me to cut carbs because I'm gaining weight too fast. Whatever I don't think 20 pounds for 25 weeks is bad at all.

I wouldn't worry...you have to give the baby what it needs!

At 22 weeks now I have gained a total of 18 lbs and my Dr told me about a month and 3 lbs ago that I was gaining too much too fast. My weight gain is sporadic though which really scares me. I didn't gain any weight one week and then BANG! 3lbs over night!!

I'm up about 10 pounds at 22 weeks but err...that was 2 weeks ago that I got weighed....who knows what the last 2 weeks have packed on! My DH has started using my arm as a pillow

They say that if you are statistically under weight or on the border line, you will tend to gain more weight the first 20 or so weeks.... If you are over weight at the start of your prgnancy, you may even lose weight. That, fortunately or unfortunately was me.

I wouldn't stress about it too much, I know that there were parts of my pregnancy wherer I blew up, and other parts where I didnt gain a thing!!!

If you are really concerned you may want to research nutritionists that work with preggo people!

Good Luck!

Assuming you are eating well balance meals, I would feel happy that you are doing what your baby needs. Sure, if you are eating multiple desserts each night it might be worth slowing down (baby doesn't need that hehe), but if we are talking ice cream once or twice a week worrying is crazy.
