We have a wedding coming up in June. The bride to be was one of my bridesmaids but I'm not in her wedding party (I kind of distanced myself from her after my wedding b/c she caused A LOT of drama leading up to my wedding - didn't come to my church b/c she waited til the last minute to ask for the day from work & they said no... plus several other things). She's having a vow ceremony at a restaurant, followed by a cocktail hour. The 'reception' is from 5 - 8. The next day... they're having a BBQ at his mother's house.
She gave us $150 for just herself (which is what most ppl will give if they come solo).
Should DH and I give $300 or is $200/$250 for the both of us enough?

How much would you give?
I'd give $200 if you aren't that close.

I always believe that you give what you got...but also take into account where she is having the wedding & how much you think it is per head. I think 200-250 is enough cos I doubt she would give $300 for her and a guest.

Although you 'technically' aren't supposed to base your gift amount on the venue, I would give $250 because it isn't a typical wedding venue- $200 to me sounds good too though, but if it makes you nervous, go with $250 to be safe

I think 200-250 is enough esp since usually bridesmaids give more than a guest and she was a BM and you're not, you're just a guest

i'd probably give $250 but think you could get away with $200
