How much would you pay someone for daycare?
I placed an ad - and I was wondering what you think is a fair price to pay someone to come to my home and watch a 1 yr old - it's from about 9:15 to around 5:00 - and I come home for lunch so they can leave for 45 min. if they'd want -Price per day - b/c I only need it about 2 days a week.
What if they want me to bring her to them - should I change the price - or should it stay the same?
Thanks.

Re: How much would you pay someone for daycare?
I used to baby sit about 10 yrs ago full time and even back then I was paid $50+ per day.I'd think it's definitely higher than that by now but I guess it depends on the area, qualifications you're looking for, etc.

Re: How much would you pay someone for daycare?
Junebride, IMO $70-$75 is reasonable right now. I know that babysitters are getting about $10 a hour.

$30 for 8 hours? that is less than $5 an hour. That is what a teenager gets to watch your kid(s) while you go to a movie.I would think you need to play closer to $75-$100 range.

Re: How much would you pay someone for daycare?
Yes! I absolutely paid $30.00 for a full day. Privately and not privately. Not privately meaning a licensed day care.

Re: How much would you pay someone for daycare?
Ours gets $100 day but she is there from 9-6 M to F. We often let her leave early though and we pay her even when we take a vacation. When we were looking, $500 a week seemed to be the going rate.

A lot of women I work with who send their child to daycare at someones home said that they pay 50-60 dollars a day.

Re: How much would you pay someone for daycare?
I work as a nanny for two girls and I get paid $10/hr. I watch them at their own home but I wouldn't ask for more if I were to watch them here. I would be sure that their mom supplied their food though!

Re: How much would you pay someone for daycare?
I take Annalise to a home 2 days a week. She is there approx. 8:30 to 4:30 and it is $45 a day. I provide her food , drink, diapers, etc. She is the only child there in the morning. There are 2 boys (brothers) with her in the afternoon. Most day care centers I checked were about $250 for full days. That is about $5 an hour. I thought this lady was reasonable since she is private and can afford to charge the same price.

Re: How much would you pay someone for daycare?
Maria goes 5 days a week from 7:30 to 3:30 (earlier, If I can get out of the building!
) to the sitter's home. We pay her $50 per day. But I would be willing to pay someone really good even more.
