How often do you communicate with your reception Band/DJ?

How often do you communicate with your reception Band/DJ?

How do reception bands or DJs usually communicate with what would happen for the wedding? Do they call you or do you call them?

Should I meet with them or just discuss music arrangements over the phone?

I'm having a hard time getting in contact with them to discuss this.

We met with our DJ and gave him a list of songs we wanted to play beforehand.

Then during the reception he asked us a couple of times if things were going ok.

BTW, we went to a wedding at the Swan Club on Saturday night and it was great!!!!

We spoke to one of our band members a month before our wedding to go over the play and do not play song list.

I guess as much as you have to. With the amount money we are paying vendors we should be able to communicate whenever we need to. right?

do you actually meet them (DJ/band) before the wedding?? i was under the impression that you don't . you deal with their 'coordinator'.. i wouldn't be too comfortable with this.. For the amount money you are paying, we should buddies! i think Body Rock is like that. i will let you know meeting with them tomorrow..

I really went over budget with the band, I am totally zapped from this. When I heard them at the bridal showcase, I was just in love. It wasn't a want but a need to have them there!! It just puts a smile to my face when I think of the whole reception. I'm getting mushy lol. Could you tell I love them?? I really do! But I just would like to get the music list together in advance if possible. If everyone else on liweddings is meeting with there band/DJ a month in advance, then I guess that is how it works for them? I really don't know what to expect and how to get things rolling with them!

We had our 3-month meeting the other day and thats when we finalized everything -- but before that, we really didnt communicate with them much.

don't worry when its time they will call you. Your wedding is 4 months away so you still have time.

My band just called the other day to see if i wanted to come down to their showcase and to let me know that i should start thinking about songs for the wedding. THey also let me know that i would have to schedule a meeting about 7 weeks before to talk about the wedding.
