How often do you see your parents? (vent!!!)

Hi Ladies!

I live in Brooklyn, and my father and stepmother live in Smithtown. I haven't seen them since Christmas, but call about 3X a week. My dad and I have a very good relationship, and the only reason I haven't been out there is because I work about 10 hours a day and I am taking 8 credits at NYU this semester. So my weekends are pretty much all about school.

I basically don't see anyone while I am in class. My best friend lives in Sayville and I haven't seen her since Thanksgiving.

Anyway, my stepmother just told my sister that they are NOT having a birthday cake for me this weekend (Sunday is my b-day) because I haven't been there for so long. It's all my stepmom's idea, my dad doesn't even know she's not planning anything. My sister was like 'Well, why don't you just invite her over like you do every year?' And she said she's busy now.

Isn't this so mean? My own family for godssake! I hate the guilt - I'm busy!! It doesn't mean I don;t love them!!! AArrggghghgh! I hate stuff like this!!

I unfortunatly see my parents every day, but I live with them. I would be ****ed though if I was in your situation.

Your best friend from Sayville - did she go to Sayville High School - because I live in Sayville and went to school there.

Yes - and I wento to SHS too! Class of 89! (I'm probably a bit older than you - I'll be 32 on Sunday )

My mother lives in El Paso and my father passed away in 1999. I'm lucky if I see her 3 times in one year. It totally ****s. It is the all-time worst thing about living up here. Being away from her so much.
