How old is too old...

How old is too old...

to be a flower girl?
My FH is insiting that his little cousin be our flower girl...she is six now and will be either 7 or 8 at our wedding (im not sure when her bday is)

So my question is:
Is 8 years old too old for a flower girl?

Nope! I was the flowergirl in my brother's wedding when I was 8 (there is a 19 year difference between us)

And my god-daughter is going to be 7 next year for my wedding...

Age doesn't really matter (obviously I wouldn't recommend having an 18 year old flowergirl) but if we're talking under 10... I don't see why not!

I don't think that's too old at all! Probably better, even, because she'll be less likely to have stage fright!

I don't think it really matters.
I had an 8 yo in my wedding and she was a Jr. BM but we already had a 5yo FG.

I don't see a problem with it. My cousin has 4 girls and all of them are in the bridal party. The older 2 are going to be 7 and 8 for my wedding. But I made them Junior Bridesmaids. The 2 younger ones will be 5 and 2. Instead of having 4 flower girls. LOL

I think it's perfect! She's old enough to know what she has to do, be excited about it and not throw a tantrum! (hopefully lol) I'm having my cousin as my flowergirl and she'll be around 7 by then.

I don't think it's too old. My niece will be 9 at our wedding and we made her a JrBM, but she's already been a FG so we figured we'd make her a JrBM.

I agree...my poor 5 year old flower girl lost it right before her turn to walk in...so she didn't. although when she was 2 she made it down the aisle and then a mean BM yelled at her at the altar and she ran off screaming.

Aww that is mean!!! Now that I think of it my sister was like 3 in my uncles wedding and she was so tired she didn't want to do anything!! So i guess maybe older is better.

I say she's too old IF you can't find a flower dress size for her. This is only an issue if you have to find a dress for her that the other smaller flowergirls girls will also be wearing... :D

As far as I know some manufacturers make them up to size 12 ...

I agree 8 is not too old. She can do her job and not be afraid to. Our daughter will be my JrBM and my little one will be 2 and a half for the wedding and I'm praying that she can be a GOOD FG. I rally don't want her running up the isle... We will be having another FG w/ my RB. HE's going to be almost six and she'll be 5.

In the end it's all up to you....
