How old were you when you started babysitting?

I was 12. I have to say that I was very responsible too. It was for a nice family, they paid well. News hit through the neighborhood, and I was working non-stop. it was great money.
My sisters also started at around 12.
But it does not seem like girls are doing it anymore..

I think I was 12 but it was across the street from my parents house!

I was 11 (for the next door neighbors), stopped around age 15....wish I still did it though, I miss it.

I never did it. I don't know if I would let a 12 year old watch my kids. Maybe that's why it isn't as popular anymore. I know more people who did it in college.

My cousin is almost 13 & he is a great, responsible kid, but he barely seems old enough to not have his OWN baby sitter, let alone BE one.

I was 12.....and I still babysit to this day, every other Saturday night....actually for my Junior Bridesmaid and her sister. They are my girls. I also occasionally babysit for others!!
