How should we be introduced if I am keeping my maiden name?

How should we be introduced if I am keeping my maiden name?

I don't know what made me think of this, but I have begun to think ahead and have been wondering if guests will find it weird if the bride and groom are NOT introduced as the 'new Mr. and Mrs. F.____' and INSTEAD are introduced as 'the newlyweds Juliet and Krzysztof'

What would you think? Will people pass comments?

So you don't find it odd? That's good.

nope! if it's worded right, then no one will notice. dont make an issue out of it and no one else will

Although you won't be taking his last name, you still can be introduced as Mr & Mrs XXXXX. But first names are cool too!

Does it really matter? It's just an announcement to celebrate the joining of two people.

Juliet I am having the same issue. I decided we would be announced by first names.
I don't think it sounds strange at all, maybe just less formal. Most people won't even notice.

I was watching A Wedding Story yesterday and the bride kept her name -- the only reason I noticed was because they said

...for the first time as husband and wife Joe Schmoe and Jane Doe...

and it didn't sound weird, just the two names caught my attention.

I don't think I would even notice if it was just first names. I think first names is fine. Though I would just do Mr and Mrs SOandSo just to avoid confusion and again, no one would really notice.

Thanks ladies. FH and I both have ethnic sounding names (mine is Italian, his is Polish) and our names get butchered all the time. I thought being introduced by our first names would be nice because I will probably be hyphenating AND I think it makes it more personal that everyone knows us by our names.

Thanks for the input.

Just wanted to add that I think using your first names is fine!
