My parents are telling me I am looking into things way to fast and we have plenty of time. We have the RH booked and I found my dress, I am in the process of finding a DJ and will hopefully have that finished by the end of next week. I am getting the feeling though that they want to wait to book any other vendors. I understand I still have a lot of time, but it seems like everyone on these boards are booking things wayyy early too. Does anyone else feel this way? or how soon before the wedding were you looking at/ booking florists, photog, videographer.... etc. I am just such a worrier...
TIA

Re: How soon???
From the looks of what has been going on in these boards with Photographers being booked into 2010, I would look into Photo Video soon, Florists I think you can wait because one florist can do more than one wedding at a time.

Re: How soon???
The sooner the better. As you can see girls are saying that photogs like duet are booked already for their dates in June and July 2010. Tell people to mind their bussiness, its not too soon at all.

Re: How soon???
I just did everything because I want it to be done with. Also FH and I get a better idea of what our spending habits will be everytime we book something. I say just get it over and done with so you can enjoy your engagement.

Re: How soon???
I had all my major vendors booked by July, but thats because i wanted that part to be over and done with-thats just the way i am.
Its all up to you, on how soon you want to book things and if you can afford to book things right away. I do suggest to try to book a photographer early-especially if there is someone that you want to use

Re: How soon???
IMO most important things to book asap
RH church DJ Photographer
pretty much everyone whose services you are using directly. You can look around at florists to get prices but booking that is up to you.
You're before me but by sept i want the RH Church DJ Photographer florist invitations and STD's done!
The only thing i'm waiting for really is my dress, bm dresses and..... umm.. yeah lol. I also think its better to book some things early so you have longer to save

Re: How soon???
if you have specific vendors i would get the ball rolling, as you can see, popular ones are booking up fast.
we have a 2 year engagement and booked all our vendors within the first 5 months. i'm dtill confident in my choices so i dont think booking early was a bad thing

Thats exactly how I feel I would rather have things booked and have more time to pay things off. My parents are helping...so I don't want nag them but I am the one reading the posts on these boards about everyone being booked already, not them so I am the nervous one.

Re: How soon???
the only things i have done are RH & i picked out my dress & bridesmaids dress.
i called the church and they have my date available but i have to wait until FH is ready to go to book. (he wants to get married at the botanical gardens but i want to get married in church)
when i spoke to the florist, video & limo they all said i can wait a lil while. however that could be because these vendors are all friends of mine.
the next thing we will do is the band & photo.

Re: How soon???
I would do photo soon...especially since they seem to be booking quite fast for 2010....
Really though...what difference does it make when you book vendors?? If you want to do it now, do it now!!

Re: How soon???
Its definatly not too soon. vendors are booking up and if you want your choice and not have to go w/ #2 then book now! (or soon at least)

I kept trying to slow my groomzilla, I mean FH down! But now that all is said and done, I'm glad we did what we did when we did it.

Re: How soon???
By the looks of things a lot of vendors are booking quickly. You have the most important thing done, your RH. I would get the photographer and dj out of the way and then you can probably wait till the summer to start other things.

That's exactly our deal too, hence why I'm trying to get everything done as well. If you're ready do it, I'd try not to let too many people hold you back :).

Re: How soon???
I was in a similar situation. My Dad wanted me to wait on booking things like dj and photg because of the economy. HIs concern (which I think is valid) was that people may lower their prices or go out of business and then you are screwed. When I realized that things were booking up so fast, though, we decided to book dj and are now looking at photographers. I think now is fine, just try not to second guess your decision if things like that happen (which already did to me--a dj we looked at before we booked High Voltage just emailed and said he lowered his prices because of the economy...oh well, we're still happy with Vinny!).
