How soon before a wedding should you book the honeymoon?

We have 9 months to go and I'm thinking we should get on it.

We just did it because airfare prices keep going up and we wanted to lock in the good deal we were getting.

we where last minute we got marrid march 29, 2008 and we didnt book our honeymoon until the middle of January, but we also did get an awesome deal, if you find something that you think is a great price and to good to be passed up, i would say book it

We booked our honeymoon right away. We were engaged in Oct. Our honeymoon was booked by mid December. It helps that we knew where we wanted to go

We wanted to get it out of the way too. One less thing to worry about and I'm glad we did. Airfare is through the roof!

The sooner the better, as prices are on the rise.

I booked a month after we got engaged. 7 months till the wedding :)

We booked our 6 months in advance. But being that prices are going up, I'd do it as soon as possible.

we booked in feb, so about 7 months out.

We booked in May and our wedding was in November, so it was exactly 6 months before.

This is so good to hear! I know prices are skyrocketing, but we aren't sure what we are going to be able to afford, a mini-moon most likely first... but I felt so pressured.

The wedding calendars all say between 2 and 4 months before the wedding. However, we have had our honeymoon booked for at least 6 months now. And yes, the sooner the better for the sake of the prices.

I am getting married November of this year, we booked our honeymoon this past March. I think you should at least narrow down a few ideas and geti quotes on them and then by the end of the summer you should definitly book it, only because the airfare is a lot better if you book it early.

We are still debating about when to book it ourselves & due to work scheduling conflicts we may not be able to go until after February recess! These prices are absurd!

Good question!! I have started researching and if you are going to 'peak-seaon' places I heard it is good to book hotels in advance.
