I know someone asked a similar question, but she was asking about a holiday weekend. We are getting married July 21, 2006. When is a good time to book the hall? I don't want to lose my room or my date. Some say book now, some say wait. What's a girl to do?!?!

hi we are getting married aug 4, 2006 and we booked our hall on saturday. the pros of booking early are: you lock in this years rates, it goes up every year. also, if you wait too long you may not get the hall or date you want. good luck

If you have the date already then I say go for it. I booked my hall 16 monthe in advance.

It's never too soon. We booked 2years 7months in advance and a few weeks after signing the contract, prices SKY ROCKETED. So the sooner the better. At least you know you ahve that taken care of.

Why wait, if you know what you want. Worst case- you lock in 2004 prices for a 2006 wedding..

If you are 100% sure this is where you want your reception - i say BOOK IT! You'll lock in the rates, and have piece of mind that you got the place for your date! We looked in June 04 for our Oct 05 wedding, and at that time there was only one Sat nite in October left!! Luckily we got it!

I think the sooner you book the better. I booked my wedding 2 years and 4 months before my date. I felt a lot better knowing that I had my hall booked and my date set. Also booking early ensured that the date was going to be available.

We are getting married March 31, 2006 & we booked our hall July 24th..
You get to lock into 2005 pricing & you know that is set...It is great especially if you have a specific date in mind

I agree....the sooner the better...we booked our hall two years in advance.....that way you are sure to get the date you want, at the hall you want and the room you want....plus you also lock in this years rates. We booked everything early that way I made sure I got all the vendors i really loved! Good Luck!

Our original date was in 2005 and we booked our hall in 2003 -- about 2 years in advance. Nothing wrong with that -- you actually end up saving money that way. Not only did the hall's prices go up after we booked, so did their gratuity rate and Nassau County Sales Tax!

Book as soon as you know you have found the hall, and are completely set on the date! You can get '04 prices for an '06 wedding!!!

We originally wanted to have our wedding Labor day weekend. We started looking in January 2004. For 2005, that weekend was already booked, so we changed to Columbus weekend. We booked Giorgio's in mid January 2004 for October 2005.

I would definitely agree with those who say book ASAP. We booked about in 2003. That way you can lock down the place but more importantly the price. Do your research, ask questions no matter how small you think it is, it's your day. Both of you. I wanted new candles lining the cocktail area koi pond and asked, even though my fiancee said it was stupid. We are even having the kids feed them from little containersere.

Hm, I booked in March 2004 for August 2004 -- vendors were so willing to lower prices if theywerent already booked for that day, the hall was a lot cheaper as far as site fees....but that's just me, I wasn't too picky about the date, just wanted to do it already! I could never wait that long.
4 more days!! And these 6 months have taken forever to pass!
