the premise is that guests at an event fill out a notecard and seal it. each note is labeled with a number, and then on the anniversary that corresponds to the note card, you open it up and read the message.

they said on the blog i found it on that it kinda worked that way-that 20 years later you open up a card and can re-connect with old friends and everything if you've lost touch
