Does anyone know a good guide for addressing invitations? I've seen some online but no thorough ones. We aren't having an inner envelope and most of the guides I've seen give etiquette for invitations that have both outer and inner envelopes. For example, my FH's uncle has two kids that are 17 and 13. The guides I've read say to put their name on the inner envelope, but we're not having that! Do we send a separate invite just for them, or put their name on another line?

You can address the invitation to 'The Smith Family' and that will imply that the kids are invited. Or you can write 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith and Family'.

I don't have inner envelopes either and I'm putting the kids names on the invites. They should only get their own if they are over 18. So my invite will be
Mr& Mrs Smith Jane and Joe 123 Jake Street New York NY 10001

I just wrote Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Family on everything for STDs and I plan on doing the same for wedding invites
