How to become an officiant...

I know there has to be information on this somewhere, but I cant find it. FFIL is marrying us and I wanted to send him all the infor. because I know he is sloow. Anyone know where I can find info. on what he has to do to become and official officiant?

We had my DH's best friend ordained. Here is the websitespiritual humanism . He had to get ordained and registerd with the city. In NYC (not sure about LI) it required letters from the organization. If you have any questions please feel free to FM me.

Thanks, but I was looking for somethnig more traditional. My FFIL is an elder at our christian church and I am pretty sure he wouldnt agree to that. Is there any information on this provided by NY state?

Sorry, I did not realize that he was an Elder. You might try calling the county clerk in the area where you are getting married. I would think that they could help you. Good luck!!!!
