Any advice from newly married brides out there? Some people are starting to arrive to town for the wedding- a few friends that live out of state came up early and took vacation time- and it just hit HARD that it's THIS SUNDAY... I got completely and totally nervous out of nowhere today and starting tearing up on like 5 different occasions throughout the day when talking to people about it, mostly because i'm scared about the ceremony and just jittery
i'm not second-guessing the wedding by any means, and i'm not nervous about the marriage whatsoever, but I'm so nervous about the amount of people coming and the whole walking down the aisle part and idk why it just hit me now.
any advice on how to relax and calm down? I still have all this week to get through before the wedding and I want to be able to relax and enjoy these days, and not be up all night nervous

I was pretty calm throughout the whole thing and still didn't sleep well, worrying about everything the night before. I don't know if there is any real trick. I just had spread out doing things in advance that by the week before, I didn't have anything to do. We just had dinner with friends from out of town and enjoyed it. If you have time, I'd suggest hanging out with the out of town guests, maybe getting a massage, or keeping yourself occupied so you're not thinking about what you might've forgotten to do or making up crazy situations of what could be.

I know exactly how you feel. I'm also getting amrried on Sunday! I'm excited, but very anxious about being the center of attention. I keep trying to remind myself that people are there to support us and that everything will turn out fine. Keeping my fingers crossed for good weather!

When my aunt got married years ago, she told me she did a 180 walking down the aisle. She is like me, hates the spotlight, but she said she felt so calm and all she had her eyes on was her husband-to-be. I thought that was great and it gives me hope for myself haha. I try to remind myself soooo many women have done it before us, and survived! Lol. Just keep your eyes on your husband-to-be and forget everyone watching you

how to calm my wedding nerves?
I was totally relaxed and fine the days leading up to the wedding and even that morning, but I made sure not to have people who stress me out around. It was a really fun morning, we had mimosas and bagels the radio was on and it was just really enjoyable, at that point everything is done so no use stressing about details. My nerves did hit when they were just about to open the doors for me to walk down the aisle, but only for like 30 seconds. Once I saw DH I was fine and after that the rest is easy, remember it’s a big party for you because you were lucky to find the man of your dreams, I was just so happy all day. It does go so fast so really try to soak it all in and enjoy every moment.

Exactly how I feel! This weekend I had a chronic headache because I kept almost getting myself dizzy with all of the questions, things to do, etc. Everyone seems to have questions! My MIL asking about airports, my StepMIL (yes ladies, I get two) asking about flowers, my grandma asking about hair, my catering hall asking me about song choices and cocktail hour, I could go on and on. I just have to breath and remind myself about what it is really about.
Sometimes I think about the people I know who are always very light-- always have a smile on their face and a drink in their hand, and that is who I want to be. So I try to emulate and it works every now and then :)

This exactly! i was relatively calm but the night before, I hardly slept. But I think thats pretty normal. Just remember that nothing will be perfect or on time, so you have to allow yourself to just be OK w/that! The wedding is about YOU (and the groom i guess LOL) and they can't do anything w/out you so if it's late, it's late.

I can relate to what you're going through. It hit me this morning on the drive to work because I realized this is the last Monday I'll have to work for awhile (I'm off Memorial Day). Self care is definitely important. If you can spring for a massage I definitely would. You're going to have a beautiful day and everyone says it goes by really fast which is the crazy part. So much planning involved and the whole thing is a blur

I know it's hard but you have to realize all of the worry and anxiety is completely controllable. I was 100% calm throughout the entire planning process. I even went to bed at like 9:30 the night before and slept great! The day of I started to worry a bit because I HATE BEING THE CENTER OF ATTENTION.
My dad really put it best when he told me to appreciate every second of it because you only get this experience once. When you pull up to the church and realize that everyone at that church or ceremony is there to celebrate YOU and your FH it really will help your nerves subside. Any remaining nerves will complete dissipate once you see your FH at the other end of the isle.
Once we locked eyes, he was all I saw. I promise you it will be over before you know it so rather than spending a second of your day worrying, take everything in. At some point during your ceremony, turn around to face everyone in the crowd. It's really crazy to see how many people are there to support you. Have an amazing day and be sure to stop every hour or so to just take it all in!

how to calm my wedding nerves?
Just breathe..I was nervous 2x when my mom & sis helped me get in my dress & once I arrived at the church..I just took a long deep breath in and thought of all the wonderful things that are about to happen...and once I saw my husband at the altar nobody excited but us..we both teared and couldn't stop smiling. After that moment nothing matters, nothing will stress you out..its just you an him! So enjoy this moment because it goes by fast, really fast LOL!
