I just booked the date at Jericho Terrace and I'm REALLY EXCITED to get started!!! How did you choose your venders? Any venders that you used would you highly recommend? Photography, I want one that does some blurry shots and focuses on something, more natural pictures of us smiling at each other, etc. Any good flower places? Any good limo places that you didnt have any problems with? I had a friend who had tons of problems with getting the wrong limos, etc. Thank you!!!

it sounds like you prefer a photojournalistic photographer, thats what i went for too and i used Angelica Glass-LOOOOVE her and cant say enough about her. Wedding pics in my album.
other great photojournalistic photographers are: Something in blue Henry chan Blue daisy
For flowers i used pedestals, for limos i used royalty.

Since you are getting married at the jericho terrace you have a few vendors right across the street!! flower michele is amazing and they work with all budgets they are across from the jericho terrace, also deja vu photography in the back of the jericho terrace is amazing!!!! (i booked both of those vendors) i looked at a lot of websites and asked other brides for advice. i set up a lot of appointments with all different vendors then booked the ones i was really excited about. you will know which vendor you should use when you leave them because you just get so excited about what you have seen!!! Good Luck on Vendors!!

I found my vendors pretty much from posting on this site or by word of mouth from friends. Just make appointments and try and narrow down your choices. I used Thomas Paul and he really caught a lot of those traditional pics where were smiling at eachother and kissing eachother. I felt like he caught every emotion of the day. You can check out my review on the review boards to see what his style is like and he has a website:

Good luck and happy planning!

i agree, do a search on here and check out vendors. Look at photographers that have the style you like, meet with them and see which you like best. Florist same thing and same with limo's. You can even go to bridal shows at JT to see some of their vendors and talk to them, florists will have their work out too and so will photographers. Limo companies bring a few of their cars and have them parked outside.
Also dont feel like you have to book JT vendors. I went with a few JT vendors but only bc i liked them and had wanted to book them regardless of that fact. Other vendors i had were not their recommended vendors, and some werent even LIW vendors.
This site is great bc you can get alot of reviews on vendors and see their work from previous weddings.

Congrats!! I'm getting married July 2009 at Jericho as well. What room do you have?
As far as vendors...it seems it benefits you to use Jericho's house vendors. If you use enough of them, then Jericho will give you an upgrade. Whether it be a carvier station and extra carving station at cocktail etc. But if you don't like any of them, then by all means branch out and look at the reviews to see who's good out there.
Keep a few things in mind. Yes, you do get what you pay for, but that doesn't mean you should pay double either.
For photo I met with Patken, Cassarino, F ine Art.
Patken and F ine Art specialize in those candid photojournalistic looks that you like (I love that too).
I heard Sherwood Triart is beyond amazing, but also heard their prices are ridiculous. So it depends on your budget. I did not meet with them b/c they were way out of my range.
It all depends if you want that new digital looking album, how many images you want etc? How many photographer blah blah blah. I thought F ine Art had everything that I was looking for.
Good luck and let me know if you need any help or pricing.

It can be very overwhelming to choose vendors.
For photo I recommend Imagine Studios. Check out Belongs2danbuckley album. Her pictures are amazing!

I chose Verbena Designs for my flowers. Jenn is amazing to work with. She is incredibly talented and her prices are very reasonable.
I also chose Blue Daisy for my photography. I think Marianne is another extremely talented vendor. She captures images that are gorgeous and so real! Nothing in her portfolio looks posed or fake. She also works independently and she is such a doll. She's not a wedding factory...that's for sure!
Good luck with the wedding research. This site is really helpful. Read through some brides reviews and that will help you get a feel for what vendors are the most popular.
