How to cook BBQ ribs

I was planning on getting the big ones from BJ's. Do I pre-cook them before throwing them on the grill?

I make them 2 different ways.....

-bake in the oven at 250 for about 5 hrs (either basting with BBQ sauce or with a dry rub) or

-put in large pot of coldwater on the stove, as soon as it boils transfer to BBQ for about 20-30 minutes. Again either BBQ sauce or dry rub.

My DH loves ribs so i have tried them MANY times and I find these 2 ways are the most tender. And the ribs from BJ's are really good!!

i have never made ribs before, but when FI's mom does, they always turn out awesome when she boils them first... they fall off the bone that way!!

Thanks ladies. I am looking for how to make ribs on the grill though. Do you transfer them on a grill AFTER cooking them?

I always boil them before putting them on the grill. I find that makes them the most tender --they literally fall off the bone. Every time I have tried to just BBQ them the meat is a little tough. Hope that helps!!

I usually bake them in the oven for about 1-2 hours, covered with aluminum then baste with BBQ sauce, then either broil them or put them on the Grill.
