How to create an 'antique/vintage' wedding feel

So ... as we search for the right venue we know our hearts are set upon a mansion like setting with lush greens and beautiful flowers. I am interested in having our decor admidst the mansion with an 'antique/vintage' flair. Has anyone does this successfully or working on it? Can you show me any and ALL pictures? Even sites to shop from?

I dont want to go too crazy with table clothes and fancy plates as that is all extra cost. We're fine doing a runner but looking for ideas that incorporate silver trays, candles and the like. Lace perhaps?

Help! Help! Help! I am planning to get married Spring/Summer of next year!

I don't have any pictures, but I think the Woodlands would be perfect for you. I was recently at a band showcase there, and it was really beautiful, and I think had an antique charm to it.

What about the De Seversky Center on Old Westbury? It is gorgeous, and definitely has that antique feel. Dont have any pictures, but check out the website at

theres a really cool place in queens (LIC) that has an antique feel.

The Metropolitan Building

If you google it with the word wedding in it you can see really cool pictures.

Its not so much the venue ... we have a few top contenders so there is no issue there. Its more the decor (ie table settings, flowers, lighting, photo frames to use etc). Anyone have ideas?
