Gasp in horror and crawl under a rock. Opposite thing happened to me actually.
I sent friend an email, she forwarded it to her FH, he responded to me and completely tore me to shreads in that response (and yes, he certainly intended me to get that email because he had to manually add my email address to it).
After overcoming shock, I called friend and asked what the heck was going on, why was her FH telling me off. She apologized bc she said he had no right to send that to me, but she defended him for doing it too, saying he was only trying to protect her. From me??!?!?
Long time later end result: we are no longer friends.

Pretend you don't know what they're talking about when they bring it up?? I actually DID do this once. My friend forwarded an email to me from this guy she was going to go on a first date with. She forwarded me his email AND the pic of himself he attached. THANK GOD, I said 'he looks cute, in a different sort of way. try him out' in the email. I didn't look at the response address.
Well, HE responded back to ME saying, 'I don't think you meant to send this to me, but at least you didn't say I looked like a bad experiment gone wrong.' I was so embarassed. I just replied, 'huh, I don't know what you're talking about'.

I think i know what you mean...i did this once and i almost freaked out but, if you have aol and so does the person you sent it too you can 'unsend it' if they haven't read it yet and they will never see it!

I had one of my college students do that to me. They complained about their grade and I wrote back explaining why she got it. I then got another email from her sister (which was not intended for me), calling me a f-ing b-i-t-c-h. I wrote to the student in a really nice way alluding her to be more careful in the future. Hence, I never heard back about her grade.

Oh God, very funny story related to email mistakes. Sorry T, for slightly hijacking this thread, but it's REALLY funny.
Someone at my company quit to go elsewhere, and on the day he gave notice he had his ASSISTANT write up a farewell email (lame in the first place). She forwarded that email to the whole company and cc'd him. He responded, accidentally cc'ing the entire company and wrote 'thanks baby, I couldn't bring myself to be so fake, I love you for this..we'll celebrate tonight'.
When it comes to mistakes like this, you just have to **** it up!

One time my friend forwarded me a poem this guy she was seeing wrote for her. He kept playing games with her so I made comments next to each verse (about him!) and sent it - meanwhile I sent it straight to him and couldn't retrieve it!!!! I was mortified! And scared my friend would KILL me!! But she actually thought it was funny. Her boyfriend was ****ed at me. But a few weeks later he IMd me and said he was over it and thought my comments were funny! I apologized anyway and said I was just trying to make my friend feel better!
