How to decide on veil, especially when ordering on ebay?

I went gown shopping with it in my head that I was *not* going to wear a veil. After trying on a few, I was even more positive that I wasn't going to wear one. They were scratchy, too big, I felt like I was in a cage, etc.

Wound up trying on a mantilla - completely different material than tulle - and loved it.

Personally, I could never buy a veil without trying it on. So maybe you could go to a shop, try a variety on - styles, textures, lengths, etc. - and you'll have a better idea for the descriptions on ebay.
