How to decorate ...

So, we finally agreed on a place for the RD. FH is in the air force and they have a NCO Club/Bar on base. It's basically a big room, like a VFW. But it was the cheapest and easiest for us since we're footing the bill.

My question is .. how should I decorate it to make it look less like a military bar? I mean, I can't change things on the wall ... but I'm afraid just some balloons and tablecloths will look cheap.

Ideas?!?!

Can you incorporate the stuff on the wall by having a Military theme?

yea, i'll prob add some banners or red/white blue streamers over all their air force, army, marine etc signs!!! put some flags on the tables ....

You could do a Blue and White theme with flowers on the tables and put a few flags in them. If you want to hide some of the existing things on the walls, you could cover them with blown up pictures of you and FH.

i like that idea! someone else had posted about family pics being displayed.
i like the blue and white... i'll grab some flowers too and put them out :)
