How to Fireproof a Christmas tree

You can get the borax (which is the brand name for boron) at a hardware store or large supermarket. Karo syrup is corn syrup and can be found in supermarkets. I guess cheleated iron in a hardware store.

I have not actually done this myself. A friend of mine sent it to me three years ago. He typed the information out to me in an e-mail, I just found this website today, but it's the same word for word from what my friend sent me 3 yrs ago. The first year he sent it it was right before Christmas so I didn't have time to do it. The 2nd year I was in the hospital. Last year I was visiting FH's relatives and didn't get a tree for myself. So I am doing this this year for the first time. But, I have given the information to others, and the ones that made up the mixture tell me it does indeed work. But no one can find cheleted iron but that it works anyway!
