How to get a band feel while using a dj

Just was curious -
I decided to go with a dj with much debate on the two. FH really wanted a dj and I really didn't mind either way. I like dj's, but i also like the feel of live music. Does anyone have any suggestions in incorporating the two somehow?

Going to dj tomorrow so need some suggestions ASAP.

Thank you.

A lot of DJ companies have this thing where you can also get a live percussionist, saxophonist, singer - added on to the DJ package - I haven't actually seen it but heard good things about it. It sounds pretty cool and my FH and I are definitely going to look into it.

some bands really can sound just like the real musicians, depends on the feel you are looking for... i know heart and soul are awesome and they do up to date music and sound terrific

I agree, with technology today and great sound systems the bands really do a great job. I don't get the whole DJ with live musicians thing. What's the point? JMO.

I know both Xtreme Sounds and Body Rock have live musicians in addition to being DJs. I've heard them both and they're really good, of course that comes at a price.

Our Dj is Bravura and we added the live percussionist to our package. We also got a steel drum band for the cocktail hour.
