My bms will be wearing open toe shoes. I'm not really comfortable with saying to them hey, make sure you get a pedicure. But duh, is that not the obvious? I'm really only concerned about one or two of the girls...just not sure if they get their nails done all of the time. As part of their gift I was thinking of getting all of them gift certs for mani/pedi and a bottle of nail polish that matches their dresses. Do you think the hint will get across? My sil all ready offered to kind of say hey how cute, this polish matches the dresses when I give the girls their gifts. Any suggestions?

Very cool that you SIL is going to say something like that! And I love the idea about the gift certificate and polish! Very smart. When your SIL makes the comment she can add something like we HAVE to all wear this the day of the wedding - it'll be so nice!

I would just say it. Or you can make it a girls day out thing before the wedding, so you can even pick the colors.

you can make the pedicure the time you spend with 'the girls'...that way you'll all be pampered and get to spend time together

Re: How to handle tactfully???
Are you having a RD? Maybe you could get all the girls together the day before the wedding and go for mani/pedi's together? That's my plan...on Friday before the Saturday wedding...I'm taking everyone (Mom, FH's mom, FG, MOH, and a few girlfriends who are my best friends by not in the BP) to get their nails done.

I think this is really the best way to go about it.

re the 2 anti-pedicure. I know somw peoplw who are- they don't want there feet touched, but they do their own in the summer, or they would have said no to open toed shoes. Are you ok with them doing their own toes if they use your color?I was a bm in sandals, and I don't know if she ever told me to go. It was my first pedicure, but I'd be too self conscous to not get them done & then wear sandals in a wedding.

Re: How to handle tactfully???
Of course, they could do it themselves. They are just not really into wearing make up, they are more on the plain side. Which hey, there is nothing wrong with that-I wish that I could walk out the door without mascara and not be self-conscious. I just don't want to make a big deal out of the whole thing b/c I just don't want to be crazy like that. I guess I am if I'm asking huh?
Should I not get the gift certs? They are my two brothers future wives...guess I should ask my bros what they think/know about how they feel about those things?

I don't even want to sound crazy either that it has to be ONLY my nail polish you know? That's just me, I personally would like getting stuff like that from someone.

Re: How to handle tactfully???
I think the girls day out is good...but I have a friend who once got a really bad fungus from getting a pedicure. Grant it was probably not from a very reputable place but nonetheless she now has a bad taste in her mouth from pedicures.
Although she is not a BM I know for a fact she will never get a pedicure but once the warmer months come she paints her own toenails. Just a little story to give you another POV!!!!!
