How to involve someone in the wedding

How to involve someone in the wedding

FSIL is 16...instead of being apart of the BP...what can she do to be involved in the wedding? I don't think she will do a reading during the ceremony and I think alot of other jobs (giving out programs, etc) isn't involved enough since she is FSIL.

Any ideas?

at 16 in my opinion she should be part of the bridal party. when my brother got married i was 17 & my sister was 13 & we where both bridesmaids.

in past experiences with family & friends everyone has included their FBILs & FSILs as bridesmaids & groomsmen.

since FH is an only child i don't have this but my brother will be walking my mom down the aisle & my SIL will be walking down the aisle with my two flower girls. this was everyone is included & it doesn't start any family drama.

The only other large way to involve someone in a wedding is to have them to a reading at your ceremony. I can't think of anything else.

There is a whole long drawn out story but in a nutshell, FH doesn't want to involve any of his siblings in the BP (they are all teenagers), because he isn't close with them. At one point I was considering asking FSIL to be a bridesmaid, however FH has requested none of his siblings are in the BP. Now I'm stuck. I still wanted them to be involved on a small scale

I agree....why not make her a Junior BM?

in that case the only other thing left is to do a reading at church.

Sorry, we must've posted just at the same time. I'd say then a reading at church, or maybe even just a small token - like a corsage or something that she can wear during the wedding.

Why dont you allow her to make a toast at the wedding on the behalf of his family?

What about having a song dedicated to your FH siblings? Have the DJ announce that this song is for them. A fun song that the family can all dance too and take lots of pictures of it. Just a thought, it could be fun.
