We looked at a few RH's this week and have narrowed down our choices. I just have a dumb question...how do you negotiate price with a RH?
Do you ask for less food at the CH? Less entree options? Or do you just say, 'I can't go above $XXpp'??

If you have a certain amount that you are looking to spend PP tell them and ask if they can work around it.. If not see if they can throw in extra food at the CH or dessert or see if they can lower your minimum requirmenet. I think you should just say this is our budget how can you work with us?
That is JMO. I didnt negotiate with the RH when I went.. they kept throwing things in for free on their own so I kept my mouth shut!

ITA . Fh was in sales for years and when it comes to negotiating with our vendors I let him do all the talking. FH told me NEVER offer to give up ANYTHING let them know your price PP and let THEM work with you. Stay firm!!! We got our RH down alot of $$$$$ without giving up anything!!! Good luck!!

What I did was increase the minimum amount of people to a guaranteed 125 instead of the 100 people that was originally talked about. She took 5 dollars off for each person.
