Do you put this in the invite? How is this usually done?

Re: How to say 'NO' to kids at the wedding?
I think typically you just don't include them on the invite and specify something about '____ out of 2 guests will be attending' to indicate you're only inviting 2 of them. There are other threads with better wording, but something along those lines.
People also put something about an 'adult reception'.

I was told that you should address the invitation soley to who is invited. For example, if you wanted kids to be invited you would put
To the Smith Family
But if you dont want kids and just the couple you would be
To: Mr. John and Jane Smith
Something like that lol

I also told my mom and fmil to spread the word and they did a great job telling everyone got to love word of mouth plus then the moms get the complaints not you and they can say well its what the kids want.

I agree!!! Also, address the invite to Mr & Mrs only. Good Luck!! I know I am going to have problems with my FMIL and this b/c she thought her friend's 6 yr old grandson was invited to the wedding because her friend brought him to my e-dinner. I said... no kids and she didn't seem to happy!! But oh well - no kids @ my wedding except for the bridal party - FH & my nieces/nephews
