Since I am new to the boards, I have heard that vendors check the boards all the time. I was wondering how can you tell if someone who FMs you is for real or a vendor pretending to be a bride? If you feel more comfortable Fming me rather than posting..I would greatly appreciate it. I am not really looking to start drama. I am on here only to get good advice from a good group of girls!

i AHVENT HAD THAT YET EITHER. BUT I WOULD GUESS THAT IF YOU DO SEE SOMETHING EMAILED TO YOU MAKE SURE IT A PERSON U SEE ON TEH BOARDS ALL THE TIME. USUALLY YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEE IF THEY HAVE BEEN ACTIVELY POSTING ABOUT ALL SUBJECTS NOT JUST WHATEVER THEY ARE TRYING TO SELL.

you can't always tell, but it's a red flag when someone has a handful of posts and they are all bashing or praising a particular vendor.
also look out for a thread about dresses for example, and someone will reply:
'nice dress. if you need a florist check out www.mywebsitehere.com'

# of posts. if it's a wedding newbie and all the posts are about the same vendor(s), that's a good sign that the profile is a fake. also, if the person sounds a little too much like a walking commercial.

I haven't had anyone FM me - I just would not respond if I didn't feel comfortable or I would ask them questions.
I think this whole 'imposter' thing is very strange but I have heard of it before on here.
