My dress is being shipped to me this week and I have no clue how I should store it. (I didnt buy my dress from a bridal salon). I am not going to have my first fitting until September. How should I store the dress until then? Thanks.

hang the dress and cover with a sheet.
ETA: if it comes in a bags. either remove from the bag or open the bag a bit so it can air.

and not near a window or a damp room....no basement or attic...really, a commonly used room that isn't humid is great.

I have mine in it's breathable bag. Sort of feels gauzy/felty. the bridal salon owner told me I can keep it in that. But it's right out in our bedroom. Poor FH is not alloud to touch it. Such temptation!!

I bought my dress in February and had my first fitting today. The bridal shop owner put the dress inide out and folded it up and put it into a plastic bag and told me to put it on the top of my closet.
I thought it was odd, but I did it. The dress was great today. I thought it would be wrinkled but it wasn't.
I think if you hang it up you risk stretching it.
You should check with whomever you bought it from.
