How would this look? w/ pics

I was going to have all low centerpieces, but now I'm thinking it may not be dramatic enough when you enter the ballroom. What do you think of the idea of mixing low and high centerpieces. The low ones would be a mix of fall colors (oranges, reds, golds) and the tall ones would be the tree branches with votives. These are two pics I found that kind of represent what I would want. Not exactly, but you can get the idea. If anyone has better pics, please post them.

ETS: Don't forget that the low centerpiece would not be in the pinks, they would be in reds, oranges, and rusty yellows.

I would do all one or the other. - JMO but I dont think it would look nice.

what about putting low but wide ones... those are very dramatic.

I think they should all be the same also.

I agree, I think it would look better if it's all the same

The tall looks more Fall-like and the low looks more summer.

I think walking into the room it would look a bit off...big color difference and height difference. I agree that with the others, I would do all one way.

I'm not a fan of the tree branches. You can't see the other side of the table through the branches. I love the low one you posted!

I agree, all one way. I like the top one for a fall wedding.

I really thought it would look nice, but if so many of you don't think it will look right, then I guess I better make a decision between the two. I'll probably just go with low, full fall colored flowers with votives on the table.

I honestly prefer low c-pieces...your guests can see and talk to each other...you'll be able to see your guests as you walk around the room....

here's an idea...how big are your tables? How about doing 3 varying heights of glass vases with your flowers...you get some height...you get your color and it will present more effect when you enter the room? Similar to the c-pieces with 3 different sized pillar candles, but with 3 different vases.....you could mix up heights, shapes, even color of vases....you could do each vase one color of flower or each table in one color (1 table is orange using roses, lilies, gerbera daisies)....you could do same flower, different color on each table (like 1 table is roses in red, orange, yellow)...this could present a strong presentation of color....

best bet...TRY IT OUT at your hall! Good luck...hope I helped a little

It depends a lot on the size of your reception room. I went to a wedding last August where they mixed low and high centerpieces and it was beautiful and everyone commented to the bride how much they loved it.

If you do both, they need to compliment each other and 'match' a little. I would incorporate something from the low centerpiece into the higher one. They don't have to be the same, but similar so they look like they 'go.'

If your room is small, then the high centerpieces might make it appear smaller by taking up too much space. And if the room is huge, only low centerpieces will be lost in the room.

I would stick with one kind...are those the two you are thinking of? Only because they seem to have a 'differnet' feel to them, a little too 'different' from each other....I think if you could arrange to do a small and large one with more of the same 'type' of flowers/design it would look nicer..

i like both, so i can't decide. what about combining the high w/ a smaller version of the low (2 per table)?

if you do choose to do both...I'd use maybe a slightly taller, more cylinder type vase on the low ones or find a way to incorporate the branches into the low c-pieces....kind of like an accent!

I like the low ones but why don't you ask if they can provide stands for them. They will look so pretty on a stand. We are having round tables with stands and a small floral arrangement.

I had a really big ball room and did both high and low. Everything didn't look so uniform--It looked better than all high or all low. And I don't know why people think you cannot see across the table when there is a high centerpiece--If they are the correct height, you shoud have no problem.

I was sitting at that table at the GTG (that's where that picture is from) and I could not see across the table.

good point...

i like the branches, however in the pic you posted it looks like it would obstruct views, i would get a taller vase/container. if you mix & match i would try other colors for the lower ones...

I prefer just the high ones plus the candles.
