well, hopefully yours will be first, so those people that come to both will see how she ripped off your ideas....

I would maybe start saying, oh i changed the tux to.....and we are no longer having such and such, we are doing..... so maybe she'll change her stuff, and by the time your wedding rolls around, she won't have enough time to switch back....

good luck..that stinks!

oh, sorry, i just saw yours is this october, and hers is next october...

Wow that is really weird ....but you know what ...you are two different people there is no way her wedding will be just like yours ...just don't tell her anything else or if you do make sure it's not what you actually are doing ...start making stuff up...lol

Stop sharing all of your info with her. And if she continues to push for more... be honest with her. Tell her that it bothers you that she's taking all of your ideas and applying it to her own wedding. Let her know that by doing this, she's missing out on all of the fun of planning her own unique wedding.

Tell her your BM are wearing leather biker outfits and carrying handcuffs instead of BoKs.

ya know... you're lucky you're getting the warning of her telling you she's copying! STOP TELLING HER STUFF!!!! My friend wasn't engaged when I was and I told her everything I was doing. Then she got engaged and had to get married quickly for religious reasons or something. Guess what... her dress was the same as mine. She gave a flower out to all the guests, like I said I was doing. Her veil was a duplicate of mine. I just kept seeing SO many things that day that I had planned and told her about!! Thank GOD she and her family (and me and my FH) are really the only common guests!, but I know how you feel. It REALLY TICKED ME OFF!

They say 'imitation is flattery', but not when you want a totally unique wedding. I would just zip it, or tell her you're doing REALLY wacky things and see if she copies those!

If I was you I wouldn't say anything to her. Just brush her off

When it comes down to it, your wedding is YOUR OWN... you wont have too many of the same repeat guests anyway, so not too many people would even realize.. And half the time they wouldnt realize ANYWAY!
also, you will have your own wedding pix up in your home, she will too... you wont have your pic hanging next to HERS in your own home! its something that wont matter in time, and noone will notice... PLUS- if she gets married AFTER you and someone DOES noticesimilarities.. they will compare HER wedding to YOURS! HA HA TO HER!!!!

I don't think I would care all that much. A bunch of my friends are getting married over the span of 2 years and we all share info to help each other out. One of my friends even tried to push me to have my reception at the same hall as her. I told another friend I might use her centerpieces and she said she was flattered.

If it REALLY bugs you... consider lying to her. Not maliciously - but she obviously is lacking a creative gene. So give her some ideas! Just not YOUR ideas!

I'm dealing with a similar situation a friend of mine is not planning anything!! she says she's 'too busy' but everytime me and my MOH (whos also getting married next year) mention a vendor she asks us for their number. Now we've just stopped telling her stuff. I think thats your best bet.

just tell her to total opposite...or just say i dont know ......she should make her wedding her own!

I FEEL YOU SISTER!!! Can I just tell you? This is my 2nd marriage. My first marriage was back in the day. Anywho, we had these friends who got engaged soon after we did. My wedding was first and hers was second. Ready for this?

same hall
same room
same cake
same BM's dresses- different color
same tux's
same amt. in BP
same church
same priest
same readings

I thought to myself.....she's getting married? I thought she was a lesbian in love with me bc she is copying everything I do.

Imitation is the highest form of flattery!

Either roll with it or keep your plans to yourself. Sorry that this is happening to you. At least she is telling you that she is copying you. I just thought that maybe all the pot smoking I did in high school was finally catching up with me!

Well the way I would look at it is that if yours is first then there is not much to worry about....everyone will see that she copied everything you did.

With that said your day is gonna be unique in its own way that she will not be able to copy so just go with it and maybe dont tell her everything and let her make her own decisions and ideas.

Could you direct her to this site so she could get 'other' insight?

Man, Ron should thank you and give me some kind of price for coming up with marketing strategies!!

I think it is weird how she is doing it or presenting it to you ~ but my MOH we are getting married 3 weeks apart & we actually are using same vendors.... (not all the same) (but now that I think about it ~ that is about it ~ our ideas are different but we use each other for ideas and if she likes something of mine or vice versa I don't think either one of us would have a problem with it)
Good Luck!

Honestly... i wouldn't stress about it yet. She hasn't even set a date yet and by the time she does and starts planning... she could totally change her mind about everything! She might say she's only going to have 1 MOH and 1 BM... but she might change her mind.

It wouldn't bother me. But that's just me. Besides, yours is first and i would take it as a compliment that she wants to copy you. I say let it go. Every wedding is different somehow. The details of the tuxedo color, how many bm's, etc are sort of the insignificant details if you get what i'm saying.

I was going to say that too I am sorry she is doing that to you, but I guess it is a compliment that she loves your ideas!
