how would you handle this...

so my wedding was BEAUTIFUL and i was lucky to only have to deal with a few minor annoyances on the day of---no major problems.

one thing that happened though had to do with my photographer. its not stated in my contract, but i was told in an email and in person that my photographer would have a lighting assistant. i didnt realize until halfway through formal pics that my photographer did not have an assistant! now, i didnt ask him why at this point, bc it was a little too late, but i feel like i should have been told why he came solo. at one point while he was juggling his equippment on his knees and trying to fix my train i say 'where's your assistant when you need her?' but he just tells me that hes doing OK on his own or something like that.

but here i am thinking about how the aquarium isnt the brightest place and a lighting assistant would have been helpful. that i had a big BP and big family and a second person there to help get people positioned would have beeb great, considering my photographer kept making jokes about how noone was listening to him. i hope that when i get my proofs that my veil isnt in a stupid position and my train looks good bc these are things the assistant would have taking care of.

so anyways, i still loved our photographer, but i just hope that we cant tell in the proofs that an assistant would have made them that much better, ya know? also i paid for the assistants dinner which cost $80.

i will talk to my photographer about it when we pick up our proofs, but what do you think is fair to ask for? more pics in our album, etc?

thanks! ~lacey

If he had said that he was bringing an assistant and didn't, then yes, I would either ask for more pics in my album or maybe a couple of extra prints- whatever you think you want but I would definitely get something thrown in- especially if you paid for the dinner.

I'd ask but, it's a sticky situation since it wasn't in your written contract...

Hi, first I would see how the pictures came out. If they came out great then I would ask him for a small reduction of price since you had to pay for the dinner or another photo for the wall...if they came out to dark then you can really get him to reduce his amount of money you are paying him. Good luck
