how would you take this?

how would you take this?

so my moms friend, who's never been a huge fan of mine, sends us an engagement card. in it she wishes us all the best, and then especially to FH writes 'you're a lucky guy, jess is a CLASS ACT' in caps and underlined.
now i've only ever used that being sarcastic, lol, how would you take it?

if your thinking that she meant it as a jab at you, take it with a grain of salt...look at where its coming from...

She could have very well meant it as a compliment but with her history its understandable to think that she meant it in a hurtful way. I wouldnt worry about it...she isnt your friend or immediate family, its your mom's friend...

I would take in personally...because something like that would annoy me...BUT I wouldnt stress over this because you know how this woman can be.

Would she really go out of her way to be that mean? If so, what a horrible existence she must lead... thankfully yours is much better than hers!

I would take it personally, but if you don't personally care for this person then i wouldn't let it get to me

How nice of her to just assume she was invited I would def. take it personally- its just not something to put in an engagement card!

that was my feelings towards it and then when FH read it he didnt see the big deal, so i wasnt sure if i was just taking it the wrong way. she also made sure to put a message in the card specifically to my mom to call her, so who knows, maybe she's upset with my mom and took out in the e-card? lol

I could tell you not to read into it, but it would be hypocritical because I know for myself, it would urk me a bit.

I don't however, think it was an outright attack on you.

loll that is horrible... I would be offended but just talk to fh about it and vent with us & let it go---

you will see many people in this world have no class... also I think that it is inappropriate to reference anyone other than the engaged couple & wish them all the best---any how this woman is a pure example of what not to do-- I would never send an empty card.. send something small along with it like a little gift for the thought... not a tacky card....she is the type of person who gives $50 as a wedding 'gift' just let it go-- you cant pick your 'family'

I would take it personally, but it might be hard to convince other people about the jab unless they know how she always is with you. I'd just try to ignore it because if this woman has been your mom's friend for such a long time and nothing has been done about her behavior towards you, nothing is going to change. You may as well just ignore it and when she gives you money for the wedding, you're better off than she is at that point!
