I know this is kind of old, but I finally saw it, and is it just be or is the media making a bigger deal about it. I don't think he is crazy. a little excitable but not crazy.
yes I want someone who throws himself into the office, but you have to remember that the president has to remain calm and collected in so many situations....
he's a loose cannon...

Re: Howard Dean's speech??
She that speech would not make up my mind to vote with him or not, I agree with Kerry on more issues then with him, I just thought the press response was a bit harsh. I read something where they said he needed a straight jacket.
it might sway you if you were deciding btwn him and 1-2 other people...

It might sway you if you had heard the speech rather than read it. My jaw dropped when I heard him screaming like a banshee - he sounded more like a WWF announcer than a presidential candidate IMO.

I heard it, and really didn't think it was that bad.

Everytime I see the footage of him letting out that scream, I just feel so embarrassed. Nit sure if I am more embarrassed for him or if it just embarrases me!

Re: Howard Dean's speech??
I like Dean's attitude -- the way he won't back off from his more 'controversial' positions or polish his image just to please people. And I thought the yelling was just fun and enthusiastic! On the other hand, I do worry that he isn't 'electable.' I know this is a really problematic way to consider the candidates, but since I'm backing a Democrat pretty much no matter what, I want one who has a chance to beat Bush! Which is why I'm thinking Kerry or Edwards is a better choice.
Oh, did I mention Edwards in the 'geek crush' thread? Heh, just kidding...

I thought he sounded like a WWF announcer too! They've replayed it so many times down here in D.C. and it cracks me up every time.

I keep hearing it on Howard Stern, and it makes me laugh.

It makes me laugh too ... they are killing him on Howard Stern, and so many other shows. Especially that war cry at the end!
I know that they are blowing it a bit out of proportion, but when I first woke up that morning and heard him going down the list of states (before any of the hype began), I looked at FH and said 'WTF?' We could not stop laughing...

Oh, the list of states was the funniest part! I kept thinking of that song, 'Route 66'...
'Well it goes to St. Louis! Down to Missouri! Oklahoma City looks oh so pretty!'
OK, I obviously need to lie down for a while.

Oh, I misread what you typed.
Really? I thought he sounded rediculous. There's passionate and then there is way over the line. Even his most avid supporters were turned off by it - from what I heard and read.

Re: Howard Dean's speech??
I could see how it would lower his respect level a bit....but I think he just got excited and when I saw it, I was like so what! What was all the fuss about?
