Yup, definitely worth it in my opinion. Prevents the three most common types of high risk HPV. So even if you've got one (not suggesting you do, lol) you still get protected from the others. I took a class about HPV and cervical cancer, and in my opinion there's no reason NOT to get it.

Re: HPV Vaccine
i think it's worth getting. my cousin was part of their trials before the vaccine became public. she had a placebo though but they told her she can get the vaccine if she wanted to after the trial was over. i think the cut off is 26 or 28 years of age for women.

Re: HPV Vaccine
My gyno also said that they plan on raising the age soon too, as soon as they are done with the clinical trials for that age group. She suggests it to everyone 30 and under right now. Hope that helps!

Re: HPV Vaccine
I got 2 of the 3 shots already....the 2nd one hurt my arm soo bad The only negative about it is that it is new and there havent been too many long term studies. But I would def. recommend it...it prevents cancer!!!

exactly!! that was my concern...like in 10yrs are they going to say everyone that got the vaccine now HAS cervical cancer!! I mean the chances are unlikely, i'm just hesitant with anything new. My gyno said that only 3 children out of the thousands that got it had side effects and that was rheumatoid arthritis. They feel though that it's unrelated to the vaccine, just conincidental. I got the shot in my butt!! they said they don't do it in the arm and that it usually hurts more (which is true)...but butt shots suck!!

Re: HPV Vaccine
I would defintely get it if I could, unfortunately at 28 I think I missed the cut-off. A friend of mine had HPV and the pain from the shots is nothing compared to what she had to go through.

touche...the shot wasn't so bad, I'm just paranoid about the long term effects...but I think it's pretty well researched.
