Huge Moment for me

Huge Moment for me

I just walked with my aircasts!!! The doc said yesterday to try it sometime this morning and the call him. He didn't want to tell me yesterday b/c he couldn't be sure until I told him that I was able to walk a lil but I am healing at 3x the pace of someone who has had the same procedure as me. He asked me if I tried out to be on the show Heroes (my favorite show which was funny). So instead of 6-8 weeks till I am in regular shoes it might only be another 2 weeks. YAY!!!! However if I go outside I still need the wheelchair but I don't care b/c I just walked without my casts!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I had to have my pinky toes realigned on both feet. The bones were broken, pushed in and made straight

OUCH.... that def. sounds like it hurt... but at least you're walking on your own. That's great news!

I had the same thing done. They realigned my bones on the second, third, and fourth toes on my right foot. It's amazing how quickly you're healing! I had the surgery December 18th and didn't get the pins out until the second week of February. I'll have to have the same thing done to my left foot but I'm so scared because of how painful the first one was. I'm so happy you're having such a speedy recovery!!!!

You had 3 toes - I had one on each maybe that's the difference. Also, the used new screws that don't have to be removed so that may be helping me too.

My doctor asked me whether I wanted the removable pins or the permanent screws and I thought I was SUCH an idiot choosing the removable pins. The pins coming out was the most excruciating thing I've ever experienced! And the guy wouldn't even let me do both feet at the same time! I was so pissed! Now I'm glad I didn't!
