Huge problem, please help

Huge problem, please help

Ok so yesterday I receive my FH father's side of the guest list. It is a piece of paper that has 9 people (couples) on it. Some with addresses, some with phone numbers only, some that reference others on the list as a starting block for an address. Fine, I will get the addresses myself no problem.
But then there is a note explaining that I should decide who we are inviting because Aunt X isn't talking to her son and wife of said son has a restraining order against Aunt X. Now Uncle X is FFIL only living sibling so how can we not invite them. On the same note FFIL has not spoken to Uncle X since his son X got into a car accident 1.5 years ago making him a quadraplegic. Now I know this is getting confusing but Aunt X essentially told son X that he isn't worth spit now that he is a quadrapeligic and son X's wife hit her. Rightfully so, if FH mom told him he was worthless and to kill himself I would hit her also.

Needless to say Aunt X is an alcoholic and overall bad person. There is also a daughter who is normal and lovely but who also doesnt speak to Aunt X because of things that she has said to her

So I was thinking that FH and I should write a note to all members involved with our save the dates. Something to the effect of:
We love you all and would be honored to have you share in our special day. We do understand that everyone is not getting along right now. We want you to know that this day is a day of new begingings and celebration. We have invited everyone and would love you all to attend. However, if you feel that you will not be able to be joyous and celebrate with us in our love then we ask that you decline coming. Please call us if you have any questions.
Love FH and self

What do you all think, I am desperate here.

That's a tough call.. but do you HAVE to invite Aunt X??? bc if she is the one causing problems, then wouldn't it be easier to eliminate her than having to write a note to adults asking them to behave on your wedding day??? It's a tough place to be in.. I'm sorry and I hope it all works out for you..

I agree, if she is the one causing all the problems then she should be eliminated.

The only problem is that Aunt and Uncle are married. How do you invite one without the other? Also, she has never done anything to us so us not inviting her is odd.

John, says dont invite the whole lot of them. But he doesn't mean it.

Sounds good to me, but you know someone is going to have something to say about it

Yes you cant invite one with out the other. I would write the note. Will they take it seriously and decline if they cant be happy for you on your day? Or will they blow it off?

I have no idea. We are hoping that those who can't behave will over react to the letter and decide they don't want to come. We will see. FH decided on this wording:

We love you all and would be honored to have you share in our special day. We do understand that everyone is not on the best of terms right now. We want you to know that this day is a day of new beginnings and celebration. We have invited everyone and would love you all to attend. However, if you feel that you will not be able to be joyous and celebrate with us in our marriage then we ask that you decline attending . Please call us if you have any questions.
Love,

Gabrielle and John

I'd write the note. Then, if they all respond that they are coming make sure you seat them on opposite sides of the room. Keep them as far away from each other as possible.

I didn't know Aunt X and Uncle X were married.. Sorry... I would include the note and then sit everyone as FAR away from eachother as you can!!

I WOULD JUST TALK TO AUNT X AND HER HUSBAND AND SKIP THE NOTE IF UR GONNA GO TO THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM U DONT HAVE TO HAVE THE NOTE.JUST EXPLAIN TO THE BOTH OF THEM HOW U FEEL AND THAT IT IS IN UR BEST INTEREST THAT SHE DONT COME AND TELL HER HUSBAND HE IS MORE THAN WELCOME TO JOIN BECUASE HES NOT PART OF THE MIX......BESIDES U DONT WANT NO CRAZY DRUNK RUINING UR DAY

This is a valid point and if the family was mature or mine I would do exactly that. That being said, they are neither mature or mine. John has never been close to his extended family but his father is the patriarch soo we are trying to keep the peace for him. John and I dont want to be involved in their BS but we also don't want to cause any problems for FFIL (he's the sweetest).
