The owner of the company decided to close yesterday due to the snow. We just received an email that we could either make up the hours, use a personal or vacation day.
I thought if the company decided to close, that we would be paid but not have to use our personal/vacation days.
Please advise. Thanks ladies.

yeah, it's not your fault that your company was closed ... you shouldn't have to make up those hours ...

Re: Human Resources help
that's BS if they expect you to take a vacation day if the building was closed. It was their decision to close not yours. I could understand if they were opened and you decided not to come in because then there is nothing you can do but EFF that noise if they are going to make you use your personal day or work more hours!

Re: Human Resources help
That is COMPLETELY ridiculous!!!! So unfair and makes no sense. I agree, if they notified their employees to stay home, then they should pay them as such.
