Tonight I am a little of both...and sad. A few days ago I read about a girl that is getting married on Nov 15th. She lost her mom as a child and has been raised by her sister ever since. Shes planning her dream wedding...shes almost there...and BAM, its all gone due to a house fire.

Now me, being a bride who also paid for her entire wedding cannot even imagine how I would be feeling right now if that were me. She lost everything! I barely did it the first time, Id never be able to start over again. So her sister posted a 'help' post about anyone who had anything, new or used she could borrow/buy/use for her wedding. She doesnt even have a dress anymore and is planning on wearing an old prom dress. God Bless her heart. Still in good spirits.

She saw a picture of my dress and just raved about how much she loved it. I did have it up for sale..and she said she'd wished she could afford it, but sadly she cant even afford to get married let alone get another dress.

SO, these past few days Ive been on a crusade to collect things from friends and family...not to mention EVERYTHING from my wedding. Decorations, flowers, centerpeices, vases...the whole 9 yards. I had a few friends/brides pitch in some really nice things for her too. But the part thats really getting to me is.... Im going to suprise her and GIVE her my wedding dress!....

And its not that Im not SO happy that I can help her dream come true...but as I'm packing it up tonight, Im sad thinking about my day...and me in my dress. Im also giving her my veil, my headpeice, and my jewelry. I dont think anyone should have their day taken away...and Im giving it back. But I cant say that Im not sad that my wedding day is gone...and now so is my dress...

So Im meeting this girl tomorrow...this girl Ive never met...and Im giving her my beautiful gown, and making her dreams come true. Im am very excited about that. I feel very good about myself and what Im doing...so I wanted to share the story with you girls. I will demand pictures from here...and I will share with you all.

Well girls...I met with the bride and her sister this morning. She was THE biggest sweetheart.

I handed her all the decorations and stuff I had gathered up for her, and she was thankful...I had a TON. She could probably have her reception tonight if she wanted...haha.

Now keep in mind, this whole time I have been actually talking with the sister, not the bride so she really had NO clue what was going on. So I got in my backseat and pulled out my dress bag. She had this look of confusion on her face...

I unzipped it and said, 'and my wedding present to you is my gown you adored so much. I hope this brings you joy and peace after everything thats happened to you.'...and she almost fainted...seriously. She cried so hard...and just hugged me. I, being the emotional sap I am, also started crying. It felt so darn good...I am so happy. I get butterflies just thinking back on it....I know I was feeling sad, but as soon as I handed it over to her...that all went away :o)

She promised me pictures...so I swear when she sends them...I will share with you guys. Its not till november 15th though. Just wanted to update you guys, thanks for all your support. I will keep in touch with her, find out if she needs anything else!

That is wonderful. I am so happy to hear. Please let us know if their is anything else she might need. I loaned a lot of stuff to a friend to use but I still might be able to help.

Amber this is one of the most touching stories I have ever heard. You are such an amazing person to be so selfless and giving to another bride at her hardest time. God will thank and bless you for this amazing gift.

Wow, what a story. What an open heart you have. If you believe in karma, it states good energy will come back to you in a positive way for all the good you put out. Karma's good like that! You surely have scored some major 'good karmic' points here!!!
You made this gesture expecting nothing in return and that is the greatest gift you could give to her and yourself. Thank you for doing what you did. Can't wait to see the pics. You are an amazing person, the world needs more of you.
