omg, hummus is so good. it's basically chickpeas, so if you like chickpeas, you'll like hummus.
if you haven't had it before, you might want to start with a flavored one first and then work your way to the reg. i think they are all delicious, but some don't agree.
tofu is phenomenal -- if you cook it right. think of tofu like a sponge, it basically absorbs the juices of what it's cooked in, so if it's in a dish where you love the flavor, you'll love tofu!
So there are flavors hummus?
How do u cook Tofu?
yea, there are a bunch of flavors. basically, they just blend some ingredient into the hummus. i love the spicy hummus and the roasted red pepper hummus. delicious!
as for tofu, it depends on what type of tofu you are working with. there's a bunch of different textures (soft, medium, firm) and fried. easiest recipe for tofu is for stir fry. buy some firm tofu and throw it into a wok (or pan) with some stir fry sauce and other vegetable. tastes delicious!

Re: Hummus & Tofu???
Hummus is a mediterranean spread- in its purest form its made from just chickpeas, tahini and a little bit of olive oil (tahini is a paste like substance made from sesame). Most brands like Tribe are not the same as real mediterranean hummus, it's a lot chunkier and tastes more like chickpea and doesnt have a tahini flavor. Some of the best brands here in the US are Sabra and Miki - you should try it with pita bread or pita chips, its delish!

Re: Hummus & Tofu???
I wouldn't eat them together, but they're both DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELISH!
Hummus with raw veggies, or pita chips is delightful. And tofu (extra firm) that's had excess moisture removed and then marinated in soy sauce, chili sauce, rice wine vinegar, ginger, garlic, and shallots and then pan fried until crispy....mmmmm....*mouth watering* Silken tofu is also a good source of protein in a smoothie.
