Hunt for a florist starts today

We are meeting with Flowers by Brian today.

This is the one vendor i am scared to death of.
I have no iea what to expect or what to ask

all i know is we want a shade of green and purple.
some high and low centerpieces.
we are having a 125 guest if that helps.

what else should i ask??!?!?

this is what she told me what she is getting. not sure if they gave her a better deal because she is getting married on a thursday

'Birch branches, with hanging votive and orchids with rose petals and votive on the table. Beautiful. You tell them what you want and they give you a price, regardless of the flower you choose. So for example: if you wanted all orchids it's the same price as roses.
It's costing us less than 2k for... centerpieces, bouquets, the arch for the ceremony and boutonnieres'

dont need to share prices but what are you getting?

the only thing I can recommend is that you make sure you know EXACTLY what you are getting and to ask the same questions each place.

We looked at flowers by brian but pricewise they were a little high for what we were looking for.
We ended up booking Verbena Designs.

*High or low cp's? Find out price for each. Most places will just give u a price for all of them and not break it down individually. Make sure u find out individual #'s in case you need to add on a few more then ur quoted for.

* Have they worked at your catering hall before?
* When do they prepare ur flowers?
* When will your sample be made?
* How far in advance do you 100% need to decide on specific type of flowers.
* Extra boutinners?? (sp?) If so how many
* Are guests allowed to take the cp flowers home?
* Do they rent or own their cp holders?

Look to see if the person you are working with is creative and will they be the one handling your flowers. Also, will they be there the day of during set up?

umm.. yeah, the basic things i have in my package are...
*2 church pieces and bows for pews
*cp tree for card table
* 6 bo-k's, 2 corsages, my bo-k, 9 bout's, 2 flower girl baskets
* flowers for mary
* 16 all high cp's
umm... yeah... thats all.

This is a great list! I have two questions, and you can laugh at me if you want, I really don't know what I'm doing when it comes to flowers. 1) What is cp tree for card table? Card table where? 2) Flowers for Mary - Mother Mary? Explain this to me lol

No prob.

Sometimes people put actual centerpieces on the same table that they are having their place cards. I'm using a lot of willow brances in my cp's so my florist just suggest a actual tree which is awesome, u can do whatever u want. Some people just do variations of their cp's or use the church flowers. Some halls provide it (i believe north ritz and the woodlands do) some don't.

As for the flowers for mary yes mother mary. Some people during catholic ceremonies offer a rose or a bo-k of flowers to the statue of mother mary.

Pedastals are great!!! I knew i was going to book them as soon as i walked in. I told the woman the colors of my wedding and she went right in the back and made me a bouquet that was amazing
