Huntington

Does anyone live in Huntington? I was looking at a few houses online there and it looks like a nice area. I see there are a number of different school district (1, 3, 13). Can someone let me know which is the most desirable school district? Feel free to FM me if you don't feel comfortable posting.

Re: Huntington

I am in school district 13. My daughter just started kindergarden at Countrywood and she absolutely loves it. We have the S. Huntington School district, from what I heard is the second best in Huntington. Harborfields which I think is #6 is the best. Huntington is a funny area, depending upon which block you are near is either really great or really bad. If you tell me the streets that you are looking at I can help you out if you'd like.

I have a freind who lives there. I will ask her. As someone said it is a funny area. I think there is a bad section, a very expensive section and then your average middle class section. But I think the town is adorable and the train line is supposed to be great.

I live in Huntington and LOVE it here! (we're on the oustkirts of the village)

We're in school district #6 - Harborfields.

The Huntington zip 11743 consists of 4 towns: Lloyd Harbor, Lloyd Neck, Halesite & Huntington

Huntington Station/South Huntington is zip 11746

Edited to say, you can get school district info from Newsday

Re: Huntington

i grew up in Huntington, Huntington HS district. My parents still live there and I think its a great town..prices seem to be crazy there too, I can't believe what they go for on our block. As for the schools, all my friends and neighbors went to public schools, but I guess I can't speak about the schools these days, but it was good when it went!

Re: Huntington

oh...that i have no clue about. my parents live right outside the village and I'm there a lot... and all my young neighbors still go to or went to HHS. I haven't really asked about how the school is these days, but because I hadn't heard of any mass exit from the public schools from neighbors, I guess I thought that it was ok..I did graduate 12 years ago though!! Oh well, I still like Huntington village area as a place to live, although I am looking closer to the city for a better commute!
