Theres not much dancing in Huntington. Its mostly all bars to bounce around at if thats what youre in the mood to do.
IMO- find somewhere else

We are from Huntington. As for downtown, the bars are more like bars as opposed to clubs. On a Friday/Sat. night there are typically good bands at Finley's, but I have a feeling that is not what you are looking for. There are definately a number of cool bars to hang out at though. FM me, if you want, and let me know what exactly you had in mind and hopefully I can give you more guidance.

I just moved to Huntington!

When I like to go sit and talk with my girls I go to La Madona... they serve food there too. Its a cute place...

But I also heard the Blue Honu is good for dancing....

I want to go now....anyone want to go???? hehe

Re: huntington village

Everytime I have been in the Honu, it has been too crowded to do any dancing. And if there was dancing, I am not sure you would want to be out dancing with a bunch of old men. hahaha

oooh really?????????

There is an older crowd at Blue Honu?

Its a mixed crowd, but the median age is closer to 40 than it is to 20. I have a friend who swears by it, maybe it is just not my taste. Honestly, since most bars in Huntington don;t have covers, the best approach is to bar hop. My FH went to law school in Huntington and according to him, thats the way to go.

Blue Honu *****.
Its filled with guidos and old people.

We once went to Mirage in Westbury... that was a fun place.

Huntington is good for bar hopping, no question about that.

Re: huntington village

i am actually not a guido and had alot of fun at the blue honu the 2x i have been there...i guess everyone has their opinions.

the mirage is fun too- we were there a few weeks ago. be warned though- when we were there there were twice as many guys as girls- and we all got hit on ALOT even though we were with a bunch of guys. great dancing, good service at the bar, and drinks are reasonable.

have fun

Re: huntington village

i guess i'm gonna have to go down there and check it out, to see if we wanna go there for the bachelorette party. we want a bar that also has dancing, not a club!! we go to mirage a handful of times each year so i kinda wanted to go somewhere else for a change, bar hopping is fine, there just needs to be music, somethings gotta keep me busy, i'm not allowed to drink!!!! how bad does that stink!!!

There are so many cool places/bars whatever to go to here in Huntington... when I've been at Blue Honu, it was definitely a mixed crowd, but it's so big, I didn't really think it's a big deal. :) Meehans...depends what you're looking for... a lot of people go from bar to bar:) Have fun!

Most of the bars in Huntington are more like lounges. Yes, they do cater to us 'older folks'. It's not like the old Huntington of 15 years ago with divvy bars packed with college kids drinking until they drop (hey, I went there then). Not much dancing.

I just had my bachelorette dinner at Teresa's on Main Street with three friends (21 years of friendship since hs) last Saturday night. We walked around and then to Classy Coffee for dessert.

Huntington is more for a relaxing loungey, wine drinking crowd these days.

I've never been to Mirage (not my scene anymore) but that seems like the place to get your groove on!
