Everytime a hurricane forms, the newspeople hype up the hurricane and everyone down here in FL pees their pants and its complete chaos. (I sit here and laugh at them everytime) I've been tracking that hurricane Bill for a few days now (my e-party is next week on LI )...I was wondering if people are freaking out up there about the hurricane...its projected to get a little too close to LI

I'm only annoyed because its causing rip tides and strong currents so I can't go to Jones beach tomorrow

OMG I am the same exact way in the wintertime whenever they predict a blizzard. Everyone goes crazy lol.
I haven't heard much about the hurricane, but then again I don't pay attention to the weather. FH told me that he is going to the beach on Sunday while I am at a bridal shower to take pictures of the storm. He said it won't be near us, but he'll see it from the coastline and the waves will be crazy.

It is being hyped by some. It is not supposed to hit here (as of right now) the beach is just going to feel the effects... crazy waves and erosion. Unless your e-party is on the beach I would say you are going to be just fine.

Normally the waters are too cool up here for the hurricanes to be that strong by the time they make it up to LI. Although everyone keeps saying 'we're due for another big one.'

We got stuck in tropical storm ana and the staff were going nuts...i have to say it was a bit scary where we were but they were also really stressing about bill!!
