I am getting married on August 2, 2009, we are trying to plan our honeymoon, however it is difficult, because everyone is telling us to be careful of hurricane season. Where are some places that you all have gone? I looked at a cruise to hawaii for 1299 pp, but FH doesn't want to go on a cruise, we really wanted to do something all inclusive and relaxing!!! please help!!!!

Try Aruba, it's out of the hurricane belt so it's very unlikely you'll hit bad weather.

Early August you are on the safer side. What I did was go on weather.com and put our honeymoon dates in and checked weather and climate histories for different areas.

yea i'm all freaked out about hurricanes too- isnt hurricane season from like june to oct ??? does anyone know? this is why i really wanna book with a travel agent so they can tell me all this stuff.

June 1st to Nov 30th is hurricane season....I would do Hawaii. I don't care if Aruba is not in the 'belt' anywhere in the tropics is at risk. It's just a risk you take. I would book where you want to go and get hurricane insurance. I lived in Key West so trust me NOBODY is always safe and there is no way to tell when or where it will happen, but you do get some warning as to where a storm is heading and how bad it is a few days out at the very least and most resorts will help you decide if you should rebook or not based on the weather

the travel agent is no help, she was going to have us book in the DR and that is the worst place to go!!! I found a cruise to hawaii from august 8-15 reallllly pretty....still i wanted an all inclusive type thing

Im leaving for my HM on August 3. I thought about a cruise but there were no sail dates close to our wedding so we nixed that idea.
If you want safe caribbean islands I would go with Aruba or St. Lucia.
I am going to book Jamica w/ travel insurance and take my chances.
