Hyatt Hotel in Hauppauge???

Ladies,
Any experiences with the Hyatt in Hauppauge? I am thinking about blocking rooms for my wedding there. How are the rates? Do they give out gift baskets at the front desk?

Thanks!

hi

im getting marrieed next door at the hamlet windwatch so naturally we went by to check out their rates. they wanted a 2 night minimum and teh 'special' rate they gave us was $199. we didnt feel like we could ask our guests to spend 400 bucks for hotel. the rooms are GORGEOUS!!!!!!! and i dont think they do gift bags.

ps- we decided to book rooms at the marriott islandia, right around the corner. their prices were better.

I also got married next door at the Hamlet. I looked into the Hyatt and found the same thing. I was happy with the Marriott.

eta: I think they also had this weird rule that I had to 'guarantee' the block, meaning that if I wanted to block 20 rooms I would have to pay for all of them even if less than 20 were booked, but that may have been because it was a holiday weekend (Columbus Day.)

Oh really? Thats insane to have a 2 night minimum. I might go to the Hilton Garden Inn in Ronkonkoma. I am getting married at the Bourne Mansion, and that is the closest hotel to the mansion. I just thought that the Hyatt was a much nicer hotel. But not too many people would stay there for 2 nights and pay that much. thanks ladies!

I LOOOOVVEEE the Hyatt. Heather there is a DREAM to work with. She has been my favorite 'vendor' to deal with thus far.

That being said, I think it depends on when you are getting married. There seem to be more rules for summer and holiday weekends.

I didnt have to do a two night minimum, and I had to guarantee 10 'nights'..... so if 5 guests are staying fri & Sat I am all set.
If I didnt meet that min Id have to pay for the 10 rooms.
